Hey there, Happy Fit Tip Friday!

So todayā€™s tip that I want to share with you is to focus on the basics.

With so many diets and programs and new things constantly coming out, I know everyone is looking for a quick fix. But when you focus on the basics, those healthy habits that you want to instill each day, thatā€™s whatā€™s going to get you results.

What does it mean to go back to basics?

  • Eating whole, unprocessed foods that includes fruit, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains. Think about eating a rainbow of colors.

  • Getting daily movement, like weight training to help build and retain muscle. Or even just striving to get 7k to 10k steps each day is going to make a huge difference.

  • Focusing on getting quality sleep by implementing a nighttime routine where you log off the electronics and have an ideal sleep environment (dark, cool and quiet).

  • Drinking enough water to ensure youā€™re not thirsty, which can sometimes be mistaken for hunger. The ideal amount? Enough to ensure your urine is a very light yellow.

  • Managing your stress level is also essential. That could be through meditation, journaling, doing meditative exercise (like running, biking, or swimming), or engaging in breathwork. Itā€™s any activity that clears your mind and relaxes you.
