Hey there, Happy Fit Tip Friday!

Overindulged during vacation? Don’t punish yourself by starving or doing the latest “detox.”

Here are three ways to get back on track:

  1. Drink more water – Alcohol and salty foods can show up as a few pounds on the scale. Consume more water to ensure you’re hydrated and not retaining water. Many times hunger is mistaken for thirst.

  2. Get more movement – You don’t need to do extra cardio or workouts. Focus on increasing your daily step count.

  3. Focus on lean protein and veggies – Vacations are a time to overindulge in all the foods you don’t normally eat. Make sure your meals and snacks focus on protein (chicken, turkey, egg whites, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt) and vegetables. Eating whole foods will help you feel better and keep you full.

Getting back on track is the most important part when you overindulge.
